Prinsip kerja UPS interaktif jalur PWM Seri PBM adalah: Ketika daya listrik normal, daya listrik dipasok ke peralatan listrik melalui output filter regulator tegangan sederhana, dan baterai dalam keadaan yang dibebankan. Ketika daya terputus, inverter berfungsi untuk mengonversi arus searah yang disediakan oleh baterai menjadi output arus bergantian yang stabil ke peralatan listrik. Karena inverter tidak berfungsi ketika daya listrik normal, itu hanya mulai bekerja ketika daya listrik terputus dan baterai habis, jadi UPS ini disebut cadangan UPS.
